Activities developed by PPGFM faculty and students over the past 5 year with high school or junior high students from public schools:​

​

  • Lecture “The Usage of Medicines: Time and Space Travel”; at Álvaro Moreyra Municipal School, in Ilha do Governador/Rio de janeiro with the 6th grade in 2019;

​

  • Lecture "Anabolic substances: Myths and Reality"; at José Veríssimo State High School, in Raiz da Serra/Magé in 2016; and at Rinaldo de Lamare Municipal School, in São Conrado/Rio de Janeiro in 2017;

​

  • Class "The Magic of Daily Life Biology and Chemistry"; at CIEP (Integrated Center of Public Education) 119, in Austin/Nova Iguaçu in 2017;

​

  • Conference "Pharmacology for Maceió Public Schools". 51st Brazilian Congress of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. Maceió- AL. SBFTE and Pharmacology Divulgation at a Public School (Promoting Pharmacology in Primary Public Schools in Maceió): Theotônio Vilela Brandão State High School (4 High school classrooms both in the morning and afternoon shifts. Chairs: André S. Pupo (Unesp-Botucatu) / Emiliano Barreto (UFAL) / SBFTE Young Committee;

  • Activities in the Semana Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia (Science and Technology National Week) – workshop “Building Terraria and Comprehending the Water Cycle”  – UFRJ (from oct 22nd to 24th, 2018 Workload: 30 hours) and Manguinhos (Oct 30th, 2018 –  workload: 10 hours) - Junior High and High School students;

​

  • Scientific Divulgation Lecture “Great Challenges of Public Health: New Medicines for Alzheimer and CVA”, at Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, for the Institute’s academic community (technical studies and high school students, together with undergraduates and faculty), in 2019;

​

  • Tutoring of students of the Scientific Vocation Program (PROVOC)/Fiocruz - Joaquim Venâncio Polytechnic School of Health (EPSJV) - Destined to high school students from Complexo de Manguinhos, Complexo da Maré, and other favela communities;

​

  • Álvaro Moreyra Municipal School (Ilha do Governador, Rio de Janeiro). In 2017, 2018 and 2019. Divulgation activity about diabetes and what it is like to be a scientist. Designing of a folder, a “scientist kit” and crossword games on the theme that were distributed to the students in the scope of the project Science With No Fear.

  • Lecture "Steroids: Myths and Truths"; José Veríssímo State School, Raiz da Serra/Magé in 2016; and at Rinaldo de Lamare Municipal School, São Conrado/Rio de Janeiro in 2017;

  • Class "The magic of Biology and Chemistry in Every-day Life"; CIEP Brizolão 119, Austin/Nova Iguaçu in 2017;

  • Scientific dissemination lecture “Great challenges of the public healthcare system: New Alzheimer and CVA medicines”, at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, for the intitution academic community (Technical high school and undergraduation students, and faculty) in 2019;
